Ema Takahashi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and comes from a family chain of creative talent. With both parents in the design world, Ema, at a young age was introduced to the fundamentals of design. Ema was also intrigued by the markings on sheet music, which lead to her studies in classical music, which she studied and performed for 20 years.
In 1997, Ema packed her bags for New York City to study at FIT, it was there that she further explored the various elements of design that now influence her creations.
Ema is inspired first and foremost through her inherent love of graphic design and industrial design of the 20th century. This influence can be seen in her ‘minimal-gorgeous’ style, striking yet clean designs. It was Ema’s passion for design and her fascination with music that inspired Ema to create a jewelry collection in her name.
Ema’s reputation throughout the jewelry design world has flourished over the years, she has worked with top jewelry brands including Lisa Jenks and Robin Rotenier, Ema’s work is also used by large design houses including Anne Klein (AK Anne Klein) and Jennifer Lopez (JLO by Jennifer Lopez).
The Ema Takahashi Collection includes pieces made in Sterling Silver, 14 Karat Gold, 18 Karat Gold, and a variety of semi precious stones and natural pearls.
