Modern, but with a classic sensibility, Hayden-Harnett's handbags are instantly recognizable for their inventiveness and style. When designer Toni Hacker and her boyfriend Ben Harnett decided to start their company on April Fool's Day, 2005, they set up an office in their apartment with furniture from Ikea, and stacked boxes of handbags in their kitchen. Nine months later, you can find our beautiful and unique leather handbags and accessories in some of the finest stores in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia - Chicago, Nashville, even Japan, and we still ship handbags out of our apartment in Greenpoint, packing and inspecting each one personally.
Toni brings six-years of experience designing handbags and she and Ben combine their quirky sensibilities, their shared love of form and function, and their love of travel to produce the handbags you've been waiting for. Sourcing and developing the finest leathers from around the world, with custom-made hardware and unique finishes, Hayden-Harnett handbags are designed with an unparalleled attention to detail. You'll never lack for pockets nor will you find more versatile bags - did we mention the pockets for your iPod and cell? - or more comfortable. But we haven't lost our rock and roll spirit.
Every season we try something new. Whether it's experimenting with garment-washed leather or other novel fabrications, trying out new hardware finishes, or resurrecting beautiful vintage items with a great modern twist; look to Hayden-Harnett. And whether you're looking for a more useful clutch, or that great big bag with pockets inside and out, or our signature leather cuffs, or even unique handmade one-offs, you'll find one with personality we hope you'll wear for years. Hayden-Harnett might just be two people and a cat (she doesn't do much work, but she's a great muse). You'd never know it, though, or maybe it's pretty clear that we're not like all the rest.
